A Medical referral is not required to access services at Connect and Communicate Speech Pathology Services.
Referrals from parents, teachers, allied health and medical professionals are welcomed.
There are a number of rebates and government initiatives for children undergoing speech pathology. These include:
Rebates may be available through Medicare if the appropriate referral is made by your family doctor or Paediatrician.
Speak to your family doctor about your child’s eligibility for the Chronic Disease Management Plan (Formerly the Enhanced Primary Care Plan). Eligible children can receive 5 Medicare subsidised sessions per year.
For children with an Autism diagnosis, speak to your paediatrician about eligibility for the Helping Children with Autism Initiative Medicare items. Up to 20 sessions can be claimed for children under the age of 15 years.
We support families who have access to NDIS plans.
We are an NDIS Registered Provider and see children that are NDIA Managed,
Plan Managed or Self-Managed.
If you are participant with the NDIS, you are welcome to contact us directly.
If your family has Extras cover that includes Speech Therapy, you may be entitled to a rebate from your health fund. Please check the specifics of your policy with your insurer to find out if you are eligible for a rebate for Speech Therapy.
